Terms of Service
1. Who we are and what this is
Accounting Trainer (the “Service”) is a practice website for accounting students: balance sheets, terminology tests, mid-term style papers, and, with a PRO subscription, an AI tutor and a study desk. It is run by the operator named above (“we”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
2. Educational use only
The Service is a study aid. Tasks, answers, explanations and scores are for practice. They are not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice, and we do not promise that they match your university’s syllabus, your lecturer’s method or any exam. Tasks written by AI can contain mistakes; always check important points against your course materials. Your “Score” and level are a game mechanic, not an academic grade.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have your parent’s or guardian’s permission.
- Give a real e-mail address you can read and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Do not use bots, scripts, shared answer databases or several accounts to collect Score or prizes.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Acceptable use
Do not: attack, overload or probe the Service; try to read answers before a task is checked; copy, scrape or resell the tasks, the question banks or the Service; use it to cheat in a real examination where that is forbidden; upload unlawful or abusive content (for example in the nickname, feedback or the AI tutor chat); or break the law. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do, and may remove nicknames or leaderboard entries.
5. PRO subscription and payments
- PRO is a paid subscription. The price and billing period are shown on the home page and again at checkout before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller (merchant of record). It collects your payment details and any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. We never see or store your card number.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. When you cancel, PRO stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then it stops and you are not charged again.
- Refunds are described in the Refund Policy.
- We may change prices or PRO features. A price change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you in advance where the law or the payment provider requires it.
- AI features have fair-use limits (a daily allowance) that are shown in the Service. They exist to keep the Service affordable.
6. Giveaway and promotions
Any giveaway, contest or reward programme is run under the rules published with it in the Service. Unless those rules say otherwise, taking part does not create a right to any payment or prize. We decide who qualifies, may refuse or withdraw entries that look fraudulent or break these Terms, and may change or end a promotion. Where a prize is paid, you are responsible for your own taxes.
7. Our content and your content
The Service, its tasks, explanations, design and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them for your own study. You keep ownership of what you write (answers, notebook entries, tutor questions, feedback). You give us the right to store and process it to run the Service, and to use feedback to improve the Service without paying you.
8. Availability
We try to keep the Service running but it is provided “as is”. It may be unavailable, changed or discontinued, for example during maintenance or because of a provider outage. Please keep your own copy of anything important, such as your mistake notebook (it can be printed or saved as PDF).
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost grades, lost study time or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law where you live.
10. Changes, ending, law
We may update these Terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and for material changes we will give notice in the Service or by e-mail. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept it. You can stop using the Service at any time.
